Welcome to Henderson

Henderson is the second largest city in Nevada, and was voted the second safest city in America by Forbes magazine in 2011. It's located inside the Mojave Desert and surrounded by gorgeous mountains, though it doesn't lack for a body of water; the beautiful 320-acre artificial Lake Las Vegas can be found here. You'll also find art everywhere you look with bronze sculptures dotted throughout Henderson, and murals depicting the city's history featured in the historic Water Street District. Additional highlights include:

  • Clark County Museum. This 30-acre site explores the history of Nevada going all the way back to pre-historic times. Points of interest include a replica 1900s newspaper print shop, a 1932 Boulder City Depot, a 1918 Union Pacific steam engine, and a recreated ghost town and mining trail.
  • Ethel M. Chocolate Factory. As if chocolate weren't enough of a selling point, this factory shares its location with the beautiful Ethel M. Botanical Cactus Gardens. Visitors can tour the factory and then view more than 300 types of desert plants.

Of course, you'll always have the option of world-famous dining and entertainment in nearby Las Vegas. In fact, the juxtaposition of this tranquil desert community with its vibrant neighbor is exactly what makes Henderson a unique place to call home.
