Once you sign a purchase agreement, you’ll personalize your home at the KB Home Design Studio, selecting finishes, appliances, cabinets, fixtures, and more. Financing is often coordinated with KBHS Home Loans®, and construction progress includes regular updates.

Throughout the build, there are key milestones and walk-throughs to ensure quality and your satisfaction. As completion nears, you’ll conduct a final walk-through before closing. After move in, KB Home provides warranty coverage and customer care, so you can continue to feel confident and assured years down the road.

How do I get started building a home with KB Home?

First steps are visiting a community to choose a homesite and floor plan. A sales counselor will be there with advice and support to help you make the best decisions.

  • ·Find a community you're interested in and visit the sales office. A KB sales counselor will meet with you to learn all about your expectations and priorities so they can help you select a new home designed for your life and priced for your budget.
  • ·Tour the model homes together to explore every living space from the bedrooms to the kitchen.
  • ·Take a look at the available homesites — yep, you get to choose where in the community you want to live.
  • ·Once you finalize your homesite, the sales counselor will help you select a favorite floor plan and exterior style. They will also explain the different layout options available, which allow you to make certain structural changes before building starts.

Think of your KB sales counselor as your go-to for all home-related questions, and that includes local schools, shopping and other neighborhood tips. Plus, they can connect you with the loan experts at KBHS Home Loans® to help find a loan that’s best for your unique financial situation.

We also want this experience to be easy and enjoyable, so your design consultant will guide you to the best selections for your style and budget.

How long does the process take?

Timelines do vary by location, so it’s best to check with your sales counselor directly for specific timing. Keep in mind, though, that personalized new homes are delivered in just approximately 4 months.

Will I see my home before it’s finished?

Yes. You’ll have scheduled walk-throughs during construction and a final walk-through before closing to review the completed home.

You can also visit the site in person to check out the progress of your new home, so don't forget to take some pics from framing to finish.

What happens at closing?

At closing, you’ll complete the paperwork, finalize financing, and receive the keys to your new home. Congrats!
