As part of KB Home’s ongoing partnership with the City of San Jose, data from the eleven on site air monitors recorded seven exceedances of the Bay Area Air District guidelines during the week of September 28, 2026.
September 28: An exceedance occurred at station 11, likely due to grading activities near the station and elevated temperatures. Contractors were made aware of the exceedance and water efforts were increased on the earthwork activates near this station.
September 30: Exceedances occurred at stations 6, 7 and 8, likely due to trenching and grading operations upwind of these stations, traffic in and out of the site as well as elevated temperatures. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and water efforts with additives were increased on the earthwork activities and speed limits were heavily enforced.
October 1: Exceedances occurred at stations 7 and 8, likely due to grading operations near station 8 and traffic in and out of the site near station 7. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and water efforts with additives were increased on earthwork activities and speed limits enforced. Additional hillside stabilization using visqueen plastic starts the week of October 12th to mitigate station 7.
October 3: An exceedance occurred at station 1, likely due to elevated temperatures and wind over the hillsides. No earthwork occurred near or upwind of this station.”
