As part of KB Home’s ongoing partnership with the City of San Jose, data from the eleven on site air monitors recorded seventeen exceedances of the Bay Area Air District guidelines during the week of September 7, 2026.
September 8: Exceedances occurred at stations 6, 7, and 11, likely due to elevated temperatures during grading and trenching activities near the stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and water efforts were increased throughout the site.
September 9: Exceedances occurred at stations 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, likely due to elevated temperatures during grading and trenching activities near the stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and water efforts were increased throughout the site. Slower work practices during high temperatures have also been implemented.
September 10: Exceedances occurred at station 4, 7 and 11, likely due to elevated temperatures during grading and trenching activities near the stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and water efforts were increased and work practices were slowed. Four Additional water trucks were added.
September 11: Exceedances occurred at station 5, 6, 7, and 8, likely due to grading and trenching activities near the stations as well as traffic in and out of the site. Contractors were made aware of the exceedance and water efforts were increased and work practices were slowed.
September 12: An exceedance occurred at station 7, likely due to traffic in and out of the site. Hydroseeding of all slopes is scheduled for the week of 9/14/ 26, which will be the third application.
Due to the excessive amount of exceedances grading activities were suspended 9/14/26 and 9/15/26 and the project was heavily watered to prep for a 9/16/26 restart of grading activities.
