As part of KB Home’s ongoing partnership with the City of San Jose, data from the eleven on site air monitors recorded six exceedances of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District guidelines during the week of July 20, 2026.

 

July 21: Exceedances occurred at station 4 and 11, likely due to grading and excavating activities upwind of the stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances, and two additional water trucks were added to increase the coverage at these locations.

 

July 23: Exceedances occurred at station 7 and 8, likely due to grading activities upwind of the stations and traffic in and out of the area around the stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and slower work practices were implemented throughout the site.

 

July 24: Exceedances occurred at station 8 and 11, likely due to grading and excavating activities upwind of the stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and water truck tanks were supplemented with dust control additives (organic dish soap) to further suppress the dust in these locations.
