Communications Hill - San Jose, CA Update

As part of KB Home’s ongoing partnership with the City of San Jose, data from the thirteen on site air monitors recorded five exceedances of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District guidelines during the week of October 14, 2024.
October 14: An exceedance occurred at station 12 due to traffic. KB Home contractors were not working in the vicinity, but this area was used for equipment/material staging and vehicle parking. Additional water and hydro seeding were added throughout the site and around grading operations.
October 16: Exceedances occurred at stations 12 and 8 due to traffic from material delivery as well as vehicle parking and grading activities. KB Home contractors were working upwind of these stations but not in the vicinity. Additional water was added throughout the site. Clean base rock and fabric is being installed to the equipment/material staging and vehicle parking area near station 12 to reduce the dust impact when these areas are active. Expected completion Friday, October 25, 2024.
October 17: An exceedance occurred at stations 9 due to material delivery, traffic and grading activities. KB Home contractors were working in the vicinity and upwind of these stations. Additional water and hydro seeding were added, and grading operations were slowed down in is this area.
October 18: An exceedance occurred at stations 10 due to traffic and grading activities. KB Home contractors were working in the vicinity of this station. Due to wind gusts additional water was added throughout the site and grading operations were slowed.
