The evolution of the telephone is on display in this museum, from turn-of-the-century wooden boxes that hung on the wall, to princess phones and "candlestick" models, to Mickey Mouse novelty designs. You'll also find switchboards, and learn the history of the Roseville Telephone Company.
  • Maidu Museum and Historic Site. Built near a national historic site where the Nisenan Maidu Indians had settled for over 3,000 years, this museum features contemporary California Indian art and interactive exhibits. Outside, a walking trail leads you past petroglyphs, bedrock mortars, and a stream. This museum is tucked inside the 152-acre Maidu Regional Park which also includes a community center, library, and the Veterans Memorial Rose Garden.

You can also catch a travelling circus in this cozy town. Circus Vargas describes itself as a steampunk meets science fiction fantasy.
