Communications Hill - San Jose, CA Update

As part of KB Home’s ongoing partnership with the City of San Jose, data from the eleven on site air monitors recorded eleven exceedances of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District guidelines during the week of July 7, 2025. 

 

July 7: Exceedances occurred at stations 4, 5, and 10, likely due to grading operations and construction traffic occurring upwind of and near these stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and slower work practices were initiated as well as consistent watering.

 

July 8: An exceedance occurred at station 4, likely due to trenching operations occurring near this station. Contractors were made aware of the exceedance and more frequent and consistent watering has been initiated.

 

July 9: An exceedance occurred at station 7, likely due to grading operations occurring near and upwind of this station. Contractors were made aware of the exceedance and consistent watering has been added.

 

July 10: Exceedances occurred at stations 4, 5 and 7, likely due to grading operations occurring upwind of and near these stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and additional water trucks were added throughout these areas with water additives.

 

July 11: Exceedances occurred at stations 3, 4 and 7, likely due to grading operations occurring upwind of and near these stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and additional water trucks were added throughout these areas with water additives.

 

NOTE: A hydroseed application, which is a method of planting grass or other vegetation by spraying seed and water onto soil, will be performed on the exposed and inactive slopes the week of July 21, 2025.
