As part of KB Home’s ongoing partnership with the City of San Jose, data from the eleven on site air monitors recorded eleven exceedances of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District guidelines during the week of June 23, 2025.
June 23: Exceedances occurred at stations 3, 4 and 5, likely due to finishing building pads and grading operations occurring upwind of and near these stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and additional water trucks were added throughout these areas with water additives.
June 24: Exceedances occurred at stations 3, 4, 5 and 6, likely due to finishing building pads and grading operations occurring upwind of and near these stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and fabric will be applied to the exposed soil starting this week as well as consistent watering.
June 26: Exceedances occurred at stations 3 and 4 likely, due to finishing building pads and grading operations occurring upwind of and near these stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and additional water trucks were added throughout these areas with water additives. Additionally, contractors started covering accessible exposed slopes with fabric.
June 27: Exceedances occurred at stations 3 and 7, likely due to grading operations occurring upwind of and near these stations. Contractors were made aware of the exceedances and equipment numbers were reduced and paced slowed. Additional water trucks were also added to this area. Contractors continue to cover exposed slopes with fabric.
