Communications Hill - San Jose, CA Update

As part of KB Home’s ongoing partnership with the City of San Jose, data from the eleven on site air monitors recorded four exceedances of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District guidelines during the week of April 14, 2025.
April 16: An exceedance occurred at stations 6, likely due to traffic and grading operations occurring upwind of this station. Contractors were made aware of the exceedance and additional water utilized and slower work practices were initiated throughout the site and around grading operations.
April 17: Exceedances occurred at stations 5, 6 and 11, likely due to traffic, weed abatement and grading operations occurring near and upwind of these stations. Grading and underground utility contractors were made aware of the exceedances. Additional street sweepers and water spreaders were added to the underground utility installation operations near station 5 and the access area near station 11. Additionally, water additives were inserted to the dust control water trucks throughout the grading operation.
