Loveland is located in of one of the most geographically beautiful regions in our country. Positioned 46 miles north of Denver, this charming city boasts a number of natural areas and parks that make it easy to enjoy the great outdoors. For hiking enthusiasts, 26 miles of paved trails loop around the city in a far-from-ordinary route that stretches along the Big Thompson River, Boyd Lake State Park, and through prairies and wetland meadows. Many area lakes allow local fishing, and golfers can tee up at three city courses, including the Mariana Butte Golf Course with an 18-hole course that offers gorgeous views. Visitors can enjoy wildlife viewing and nature study of the restored wetland and river habitats. In fact, this area is considered a “birding hotspot!” You’ll also find a natural-surface pedestrian trail.
