Make a Difference Day 2008, the nation's largest day of volunteer service, will be held October 25, 2008 or the fourth Saturday in October each year. Local organizations sign up projects they need help with and volunteers donate this one day to go out and help to Make a Difference.
The Street Services Division of the Public Works Department will be performing preventive maintenance in your neighborhood. Due to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, the Street Department will be performing street maintenance activities from 6:00 P.M. to 2:30 A.M. on the streets listed below.
10th Street, from Santa Fe Plaza to Avenue G, will be closed to through traffic July 14 through July 21.
The United States Census Bureau released its 2007 population estimates today ranking Killeen the sixth fastest growing city in the nation and second fastest growing city in Texas.
Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport unveiled two new passenger boarding bridges July 10, 2008 at a press conference and ribbon-cutting. The “crystal” bridges are made of glass and are the first in the United States.
