The 21st Medical Group is closed Aug. 29 for an Air Force Space Command Family Day. Members in need of pharmacy support can visit the satellite pharmacy at the base exchange/commissary at Pete East. The 21st MDG reopens Sept. 2 for normal business. On page 8 of the Aug. 21 edition of the Space Observer, an inaccurate 21st Medical Group closure was published and the above information should have been in its place. Career enlisted aviator positions open for retraining
WASHINGTON -- The Air Force still has openings for First Term Airmen to retrain into the Flight Engineer and Flight Attendant specialties and other career enlisted aviator positions. 

TDY per mile rate increases
RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- In response to the mid-year rise in gasoline prices, the General Service Administration raised the temporary duty mileage rate from $0.505 per mile to $0.585. The increase applies to all uniformed personnel and civilian employees traveling on official business by privately-owned automobile or motorcycle, effective Aug. 1.
