Noise Ordinance Information
|
On March 24, 2008, the City Commission adopted a temporary noise amnesty ordinance which suspends
Section 38-63 (b)(1) of the current ordinance for a period of 90 calendar days from March 24, 2008 in the
special commercial zoning district (SC-3). The SC-3 district is bordered by French Ave to the west, 4th St.
to the south, Sanford Ave to the east (including Ft. Mellon Park area) , and north to Lake Monroe.
Shortly after the adoption of the amnesty ordinance, the City Commission duly appointed a five member task
force to address the concerns of the City, downtown bar owners, and residents of the City of Sanford.
The task force will ultimately recommend a more favorable ordinance to the City Commission.
