One of the oldest known images of Mooresville was recently donated to
the Library's Special Collections Department. Much can be told
from the photgraph, such as location, approximate date and key
buildings. One piece of the mystery is the two small childern in
the photograph. If you have any information please contact Andy Poore at the
Mooresville Public Library. Mr. Poore has provied a write-up on the photograph.
Also if anyone has images or video of a historical time in
Mooresville's past they can also contact Mr. Poore. A few
examples would be the building of the lake or the Robert E. Lee.

Mooresville Downtown Charrette.
August 2008
Town of Mooresville
leaders, residents and stakeholders gathered for the Downtown Master
Plan
Design Charrette held August 5-9, 2008 at Town Hall in Mooresville.
The Savannah, Georgia urban
design firm of Sottile & Sottile along with local area architects
and
designers from Burgess Design Studio, Narmour, Wright, Creech and
ColeJenest
& Stone worked on-site to complete the first phase of a new master
plan for
the historic town center of Mooresville.
This week-long charrette engaged citizens, downtown
merchants, and property owners in defining key elements of the
plan. These included strengthening of the core,
expanding green space, and identifying infill, renovation, and
redevelopment
opportunities throughout the downtown study area. The design team also
focused
on improving gateway corridors into the center, enhancing pedestrian
access,
planning for transit and parking, and integrating redevelopment of the
Mooresville Mill site.
