Panthers acquire QB McCown

Carolina has acquired quarterback Josh McCown from Miami in exchange for an undisclosed draft choice. In six NFL seasons, McCown has played in 44 games with 31 starts and completed 609-of-1,052 passes for 6,582 yards and 35 touchdowns with 40 interceptions. "Josh is a veteran quarterback who has experience as a starter in the NFL," said Panthers general manager Marty Hurney.

Good news for Moore

Further tests on Matt Moore's injured left leg Friday came up negative, and the quarterback is listed as day-to-day after being hurt late in the third quarter of Thursday's preseason game at Pittsburgh.
