Eleven Initiatives Make November ballot deadline Read summaries of the eleven measures that will definitely be on the November ballot. The official deadline for placing measures on the November ballot has passed but it's still possible that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Legislature will place one or more additional measures on the ballot dealing with the budget, especially if they include "securitizing" proceeds of the state lottery in a budget deal. Take note! Sick Leave Legislation in Senate

Bill on paid sick leave scheduled for Senate Committee hearing AB 2716 requires that businesses of over 10 employees provide 9 paid sick days per year for fulltime employees; small businesses of under 10 employees would be required to provide 5. The California Chamber is opposing, along with Small Business California.
