7/29 - Tools for Schools - In order to help schools bridge the gap created by the current budget shortfall, the St. Johns County Education Foundation (SJCEF) is sponsoring a school supply drive called “Tools for Schools.” CBS 47 and Fox 30 are partnering with the Foundation in this effort.

The community is being asked to donate school supplies to help make up the 20 percent cut being experienced by each school in the St. Johns County School District.

A school bus bearing a “Tools for Schools” banner will be on display around the county during the next three weeks until school starts. The bus will make scheduled stops in all areas of the county on the
following schedule.

The Superintendent's Podcast
During this podcast, Dr. Joseph Joyner and Margie Davidson discuss the effects of the state budget cutbacks and how those cutback have affected the school district, the new early release schedule for the next school year, state testing results, and what the school district is doing to get ready for the opening of school in August.
