      Historic Latta Plantation is a circa 1800 cotton plantation and living history farm, located within Latta Plantation Nature Preserve.  Tours of the Latta home are guided, and tours of the grounds are self-guided.

Upcoming Events

October 11-12, 2008 (10am-4pm) 27th Annual Folklife Festival and Craft Show  Interpreters will demonstrate the folk ways of the past across the plantation.  Demonstrations will include open-hearth cooking, blacksmithing, gunsmithing, woodworking, spinning, dyeing, weaving, and much more! Visitors can also do their Christmas shopping early as they visit many period and modern craft vendors selling baskets, pottery, jewelry, lace, gourds, Uncle Scott's Root Beer, yarn crafts, and much more!  Enjoy live music and eat a hot lunch with the food vendor!  Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors (62+) and students, ages 5 and under free.

October 11th, 2008 (5-8pm) Celtic Music Night Fundraiser!  Bring a chair or blanket and listen to live Celtic music by the carriage barn, brought to you by 'The Celtic Folkers.'  Purchase a hot meal from the food vendor, shop at the silent auction, win raffle prizes, and more!  All proceeds benefit the Capital Campaign.  Tickets are $12 per person.

October 17-18, 2008 at 8:00pm- Ghost Tales in the Dark  Have you ever wondered if Latta is haunted?  Walk the house and grounds by lantern light.  Your guide will share real experiences by staff members and volunteers, ghost hunters, and more.  This will be a unique opportunity to tour the plantation at night in small groups.  Admission is $12 per person.  RSVP Required!  Call 704-875-2312, ext. 302 to register!

October 24-25, 2008 (7-10pm)- Ghostwalk Take an explosive walk around the plantation at night!  Don't get left behind as you experience ghostly battles between soldiers, ghouls in the haunted plantation house, slave cabin, and garden. You never know what grisly scenes you may come across as you tour the grounds and woods!  Watch out for things that go bump in the night!  Admission is $7 per person, ages 5 and under are free (but not recommended for ages 5 and under).
