Temporary Waiving of Fees for Disposal of Storm-Related Yard Trash and Dock
Debris
Green Cove Springs, FL - Residents of Clay County are advised that on August 26,
2008 the Clay County Board of Commissioners approved the temporary waiving of
fees for disposal of storm-related yard trash and dock debris at the county’s
landfill. The waiver of disposal fees will be in effect for the next twelve
days, ending on Monday, September 8, 2008.
Please note that residents who hire a commercial hauler to take yard waste or
dock debris to the Rosemary Hill landfill, 3545 Rosemary Hill Road, Green Cove
Springs, must accompany the hauler to the station and provide an affidavit that
the waste is a result of Tropical Storm Fay and from their residential property.
Advanced Disposal Services will continue to collect yard waste curbside per
their normal weekly schedule in unincorporated areas of Clay County. All leaves
and small yard debris should be placed in a 40-gallon can or heavy-duty plastic
trash bag for collection.
Collection of containerized yard trash is unlimited; however no can or bag may
exceed 50 lbs. All stumps, trees and limbs should be no longer than 4 feet in
length and 50 lbs in weight (any one piece). A maximum total of 5 cubic yards of
non containerized yard trash will be collected per week.
Residents who brought post-storm yard trash to the landfill from Thursday,
August 21 through Tuesday, August 26 and were charged a disposal fee will be
reimbursed those fees.
