Metrolink Board approves increase in systemwide fares and for Group Travel Program.  Click HERE for more information.

Some passengers may notice that the regular Metrolink fare is increasing more than the 5.5% approved by the Metrolink Board of Directors in April.  In 2004, the Metrolink board approved a 10-year fare restructuring to convert the method of calculating fares from a zone based system to a driving mileage based system.  This resulted in many fares increasing over the 10 years of the program.  The difference between the recently approved 5.5% fare increase and the actual increase a passenger experiences is due to the fare restructuring.  The Board placed a cap of 10% on the total increase in fares in any one year attributable to the restructuring program and any other increase.
